Description

The Free Range Pro Climbing Shoes from So iLL was developed in collaboration with the Japanese climbing pro-Toshi Takeuchi - someone who knows what is important for highly ambitious boulderers and sport climbers.

The Free Range Pro combines a rather stiff, supportive toe box with a two-part outsole for a lot of precision and great power transmission with a good feel for the steps at the same time. An asymmetrical construction, proper preload, and a clear downturn are added and make the climbing shoe a good choice for really steep bouldering, small footholds, and hard-hitting sport climbing.

The upper material here is synthetic, so it hardly gives. The Velcro ensures a good fit and (smart detail!) can be easily shortened, as additional seams here prevent fraying.

Note on size selection: So iLL recommends climbers operating below a level of about French 7b/UIAA 8+/9- to choose about 1.5 US sizes larger than their street shoe size for this model.

For climbers focused on a higher level of performance, So iLL recommends choosing about 0.5 US sizes larger than their street shoe size.
